The European Commission has taken many climate-related initiatives since 1991, when it issued the first Community strategy to limit carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and improve energy efficiency. These include: a directive to promote electricity from renewable energy, voluntary commitments by car makers to reduce CO 2 emissions by 25% and proposals on the taxation of energy products. The EU has set itself some of the world’s most ambitious climate and energy targets for 2020. It was the first region to have passed binding legislation to ensure they are achieved. These CO2 reduction target is set at 20% below 1990 levels by 2020, but this is by now expected to be outperformed. The 2020 targets also aim to increase the share of renewable energy like wind and solar to 20% of EU energy use, and improve energy efficiency by 20%. In 2014, EU leaders agreed on a new climate and energy policy framework for 2030.

The world population now is 7,7 billion people where 1 billion out of those still has no access to electricity. What the world can and/or should do to achieve 100% access to energy for all? and most important how we could achieve that without having negative impact to the environment?
In your opinion, what is the future eco friendly energy? -
